A family day “Karnival” was recently organized by Glomac in conjunction with the 10 year growth of Bandar Saujana Utama, Sg. Buloh (BSU), and the official opening of BSU’s first supermarket - Central Mart.

When Glomac first began this project, the entire area was nothing more than a plantation field located far from the city center. But now, after 10 years of investment, the area has developed into a township 30,000 residents call home!

We’ve built the infrastructure, enhanced the community with facilities like Schools (Primary and Secondary), a Club House with pool and gym, Central Mart, a Police Beat Base and even an equestrian area.

This has been a great achievement because not many developers invest in townships where terrace houses go from RM120, 000 to RM200, 000 only. Usually, you only see this type of commitment in higher end townships. But we believe that you don’t have to rich to have good quality of life. Also, with the new highways which are up, it’s not far away any longer.

The turnout was tremendous – approx 10,000 people showed up to celebrate with us. There were games which the children enjoyed: Face Painting, Sand Art, Clowns, and Inflatable Bounces. One of the most popular was the pony rides, which was sponsored by BSU’s own Elmina Equestrian Centre.

During the carnival, we sold coupon books which were used to purchase food and participate in games. For every book purchased, the holder was entitled participation in a Lucky Draw session. There were 3 sessions during the “Karnival”.

At 5.00pm, our Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ FD Mansor gave away RM5, 000 each to SK and SMK Saujana as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The funds were derived from the sales of coupons sold during the Karnival. There were also performances by school children as well. Since many of the school children are also residents of BSU, we think this gesture truly benefited them.

To end the fun-filled day, Saiful Apek entertained the crowd with his comedy sketches and even sang a song from his new movie. The kids were overjoyed and even the parents had a good laugh.
